
Karachi: On this day in 2009, Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka to win T20 World Cup at Lord’s in England. Pacer Mohammad Amir has recalled memories of his first tour for Pakistan.
Amir took to Twitter to expressed his joy and wrote “Beginning of my blessed journey, my 1st tour and we were world champions still gives me goosebumps. Can never forget this day. Alhamdulilah for this always.”

Other squad members also recalled the iconic moment as Pakistan won a major ICC Trophy after 17 years. Boom Boom Shahid Afridi received player of the match for 40-ball 54 and for taking one wicket.
