Rawalpindi: Musadiq Ahmed smashed 33* in just 9 balls to power Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to 205-4 in 20 overs against Southern Punjab in the 21st match of the National T20 Cup.

The 34-year-old batted at a strike-rate of 367 and hit three fours and as many sixes. Veteran batsman Shoaib Malik made 28-ball 33 and remained unbeaten.

KP, opting to bat first, lost captain Mohammad Rizwan as Aamir Yamin clean bowled him in the third over of the innings.

After Rizwan’s wicket, Fakhar Zaman took the charge and smashed a half-century in just 22 balls. He partnered with Mohammad Hafeez (17) to add a 73-run stand for the second wicket.

Fakhar made 68 off 34 balls which included two sixes and 11 fours. Aamir Yamin and Mohammad Ilyas took two wickets each.
