JAMAICA: Fawad Alam scored a half-century before West Indies bowled out Pakistan for 217 in first inning of opening Test here at Sabina Park.

Fawad scored yet another fifty in Test cricket at crucial time for his team. He partnered with Faheem Ashraf to score 85 runs to take Pakistan from 101-5 to 186-5. Faheem got run-out after supporting Fawad brilliantly. He scored 44 runs off 66 balls including eight boundaries.

Sent into bat first, Pakistan had a sloppy start with openers Abid Ali and Imran Butt struggling a bit. Kemar Roach did the job for West Indies by removing Butt who scored 11 runs.

Abid Ali fell to Jayden Seales in eighth over without adding a single run after Butt’s departure. He made just nine, brining in Azhar Ali and Babar Azam together at the crease.

Experienced Azhar was struggling to score runs but Babar got his nerves calm before rain came in and both batters walked out with Pakistan at 34-2.

Coming back from Lunch, the duo looked balance as they scored 47 runs together. West Indies was finding it hard as they seemed set on the crease but Azhar threw away his wicket to Seales in 32nd over. He scored 17 runs.

Babar (30) followed Azhar and walked off after losing his wicket to Roach who joined Seals on the bowling roaster with two wickets.

Mohammad Rizwan joined Fawad for the fifth wicket and they both scored 33 runs together before Rizwan gave a simple catch square leg. The wicket-keeper batsman contributed 23 runs.

Pakistan are currently batting at 205-7 with Fawad (56*) and Hasan (6*).
